The decision in brief

Separate the subscription commitment from how the workspace consumes credits.

Not a fit for

Readers seeking a guaranteed workload total without measuring usage

Monthly versus annual commitment

The recorded annual amount is a total commitment, not a monthly invoice. Compare the same allowance and cancellation terms before deciding whether the annual commitment is appropriate for a prototype.

After the prototype launches

Measure both editing and live-application usage. A quiet month of development can still have database, network or AI-feature demand. Do not assume the subscription alone is the lifetime cost of the app.

No task-to-credit exchange rate

A request, a credit and a token are not interchangeable. ToolPilot has not measured a representative workload across these products, so this guide does not invent a shared usage conversion or promise a fixed number of completed tasks.

Switching effort: Before committing, rehearse code handoff, database export and secret replacement. Moving code alone does not prove the complete service can be operated elsewhere.

Migration and limits

Trial the candidate on a branch; retain the original workflow until tests, export and billing checks pass.

Local software, a configurable model provider and a self-hosted product are different capabilities. Unknown fields must be resolved for your own requirements.
